A sculptural ceramic vessel inspired by the forms of ancient Chinese ritual bronzes and jade vessels. Its strong architectural silhouette features a squared body, dramatically flared mouth and small animal-form handles, finished in a beautifully mottled olive green glaze reminiscent of traditional tea-dust glazes.
Archaic vessel forms were revived by Chinese ceramicists centuries ago, translating ancient objects once made in jade and bronze into decorative ceramics. The rich green surface further recalls the aged patina of early bronze vessels, giving this piece an especially timeless quality.
